Mountain Biking/Outdoor Activities

Cycling in its various forms has been my passion since I was 18 years old.  An avid road racer for more than 15 years, I have now turned to dirt to avoid the perils of the four-wheeled coffins which have no respect for my well-being.

Northwest Georgia has fantastic mountain trails.  My favorite and the one nearest my home is Pinhoti in Walker County.  I began riding the John’s Mountain area back in 1993.  Pinhoti at that time was a fire break and old logging road.  It would be years before I saw mtb tracks on these trails that were not mine.  Now the Snake Creek Gap time trial uses these trails as their course.

Berry College offers some good trails but horse traffic has caused erosion so bad on most of these that I seldom ride them anymore.
